I hate it that whenever you search 'anything', you find these posters (which are against the DA rules) on the first few pages. -shakes head- What has DA become? Less about art, obviously, and more a playground for art thieves.
Why are you responding to a comment made in February? Seems like your capability of reading timestamps is comparable to your atrocious English skills.
I have plenty of fun with these on MEMEBASE, which is a website made for things like this. However, since it's just as easy to upload there as it is here (or perhaps easier), I don't see the point to breaking the rules just to be a cute little rebel.
Why would I be ashamed for being a good person and following the rules? That's an idiotic thing to say. Just because I don't believe in theft and destroying the integrity of art, is that somehow wrong? What, do you worship criminals or something?
I certainly can do so, as it is written in the TOS that this content is not allowed on deviantart. People get away with it because there are so many idiots they are starting to overrun the admin's reporting system, so I just ask people to take it down on their own.
there is no integrity of art. and art does not follow rules.
but since the 90% of this site do not post art, who cares?
after all, if we want to be "strict", fandom and cosplay are not "art" and then if we put also "quality" in the equation this site can happily close down since digital painting, comics style and manga style are not "art"...
we have to choose if this site is a LIE where all the "supposed artist" cry about themselves and insult each-other or if we want to have a serene community that goes along and is a bit more free.
DeviantART is what follows rules, you silly little child. Do I really have to spell it out to you? There are rules on this site in specific that need to be followed. Since whenever you post a deviation it automatically claims it to your name, even if you do not mean to, you are unintentionally infringing on the original artist's copyright. I hate when you people use 'ART IS SUBJECTIVE' as an excuse, because you very well know that this is shit and not meant to be artistic in the least.
Uh... actually, if you were to do the math, stolen content only makes up approximately 2% (I'm even aiming high there) of this site's content, the rest being original artwork. It's just that when you take 2% of what is... let's say... ten million deviations, it's still two hundred thousand stolen pieces. Therefore, it's not difficult to stumble upon said stolen work, but it is very difficult for us to be able to hunt down, report and remove them all, especially when people re-post them or ban-evade. I'm sorry if you think crappy posters like this is considered artwork. Still, even if it is artwork, it is prohibited from the site. I think that pornography can be artistic, especially videos like XArt that have beautiful music, lighting, etc. However, it's prohibited from this site as well. The admins of the site are able to prohibit anything they choose, and the fact that they've chosen to prohibit illegal actions like copyright infringement was a smart move on their part.
There is no such thing as a community where everyone gets along fine and dandy. It's true that at one point, DA was full of polite people who wanted to help you with your artwork. However, that changed when the admins got lazy and stopped banning trolls, art thieves and general bad people. Furthermore, the amount of these idiots rose as the younger generation came of age and joined the website, as unfortunately, the majority of them are brats who think that just because they think it's okay, that makes it okay even if the rules state it isn't.
if we are talking about the real world here 90% of user do fanarts, which are actually illegal when they make the author a profit.
deviantart allow to sell those fanart, by giving the author a monetary profit, but also become more known is a profit.
so the majority of user here break the copyrights of the character, then there is all the original character concept that is a huge headache from the legal standpoint...
naming the origin copyright is not really enough, the "fair use" is a bit more complex than that...
then there are suggestive themes, not really defined what is pornography and what is a erotic pose (and we can discuss how much "erotic poses" can be considered art or not.)
by being "strict" in one part we need to be strict in other too.
so as said, 90% of users (including you and me) should be banned. and for stuff much more problematic than a demotivational...
and I do not consider demotivational posters "artwork" as I do not consider most of the stuff here art at all...especially those big views "elitist" incompetent without any interesting visual or idea...
